Frequently Asked Questions

Who is Moneytech Limited?

Moneytech is a non-bank lending organisation that has been established by Hugh Evans who has been in the Computer industry for over a decade. Moneytech, initially, will be providing credit card services to the IT industry with the intention of increasing the channel efficiencies available to all businesses.

What do Moneytech Do?

Moneytech issues Commercial Credit Cards, so businesses can apply for a trading facility with an independent third party and be given an account facility with which to conduct their business. We provide secure, smartcard-based credit card solutions allowing commercial buyers (cardholders) to purchase more efficiently and sellers (merchants) to receive payment more quickly.

Why become a Moneytech Member?

People are always looking for ways to increase effectiveness and drive efficiencies further through their business. With the use and convenience of a Moneytech DealerCard™ you will be able to achieve efficiencies by simplifying your purchasing system and through accessing the secure Moneytech exchange (website) have more business opportunities and keep a closer eye on industry events and news.

Will the information I send through the Moneytech Exchange (website) be secure?

Yes, Moneytech Exchange is encrypted and you can send and access information with peace of mind.

What is the interest Rate? What are my minimum monthly charges? How are they calculated?

Moneytech provides a TRUE 30 days interest free period. If you pay your card on day 35 from the transaction date you will only be charged 5 days of interest. There is no back dating the interest fee for the first 30 days if you pay your minimum monthly payments. The interest rate based on payment in full of 60 days is 8.75% and the most you would ever be charged for any transaction would be 12.08%. The minimum payments are calculated at the following rates:15% of the principal (plus interest) in the first month (ie: days 31-60 from transaction date), 45% of the principal (plus interest) in the second month (days 61-90 from transaction date), and 40% of the principal (plus interest) in the third month (days 91-120 from transaction date). If these minimum payments are not made then your account will be in default.

Why are these payments terms better for business than the alternatives of an account or credit card?

These terms are far more flexible for business cashflow. By using DealerCard you won’t ever carry core debt against your business strengthening your credit capability and balance sheet for future business growth. Supplier relationships will also be strengthened as you will not be risking a stop ship position again and will be able to develop a more positive business relationship.

How do I apply for a Moneytech Limited Card? Who evaluates and processes my application?

Moneytech is a non-bank financial institution that provides a credit card specifically for purchasing the business inventory and other related products as specified on the Moneytech Exchange. Apply: www.moneytech.com.au

What kind of Moneytech card should I apply for?

Moneytech members may apply for 1 of 3 card types. These cards currently provide differing levels of line of credit. Moneytech recommends you understand what responsibility each level has and choose the card that meets your financial needs prior to applying.

Can I withdraw cash using my Moneytech card?

No, as the Moneytech Card is for business purposes and just for the IT Industry you will not be able to access cash via your Moneytech Card.

Trouble-shooting - What Should I do If...

I have encountered a merchant who wants to impose a surcharge on my purchase if I pay by Moneytech DealerCard™. Are merchants allowed to do that? What should I do?

Moneytech has regulations that all merchants who accept Moneytech cards must follow. One of these rules is that Moneytech merchants are not allowed to add any surcharges where a Moneytech card is used to pay for a purchase. However, the law may expressly stop Moneytech from applying this rule and may require a merchant to be permitted to impose such a surcharge.

If you run into a problem like this with a merchant, please notify Moneytech.

I have found a charge on my Moneytech DealerCard™ statement that I do not recognise, what should I do?

Please report any transaction that you don't recognise on your Moneytech card statement to the Moneytech service centre as soon as possible. Some or all of this information may be in the Moneytech terms and conditions when your Moneytech card was issued.

The Moneytech purchasing service for secure online shopping is currently being rolled out. Please go to the website to gain access to the Merchants we currently have available.

If I have made an online purchase with my Moneytech DealerCard™ and found that the goods are different from what was shown online, what should I do?

Please contact the online merchant to address the issue. If you fail to reach a resolution with the merchant, you may address your concerns to Moneytech directly.

As general advice, Moneytech Limited recommends that cardholders should read the delivery and return policies on the online suppliers home page before completing an online transaction. Also keep a record of your transactions - just in case you need to return an item or have a question about your purchase. Back up your transactions by saving and/or printing the online confirmation of your order.

How do I check if the online merchant I want to purchase from can be trusted?

The more you know about a particular merchant, the more confident you will feel when shopping from the Moneytech Website. This is no different from how one assesses companies with physical storefronts and catalogues.

Cardholder security is a key Moneytech priority and we work closely with law enforcement authorities to track down and shut down any source of fraudulent websites or Moneytech emails. Moneytech has many safeguards and detection systems in place but prompt action by alert cardholders is one of the most important means of stopping such criminal activities.
